Tuna soutzoukakia in tomato sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 pouches Salad Pocket Trata tuna with lentils and quinoa
  • 200g bread (white stale bread without the crust)
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 cup parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • Pepper

For serving

  • 500g pasta

Method

Prepare the soutzoukakia (sausage-shaped meatballs). Soak the bread and drain well. Put the bread, tuna salad with lentils and quinoa, cumin, eggs, onion, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper in a bowl, knead and leave in the fridge for half an hour. Shape the soutzoukakia, coat with flour, shake off any excess and fry.

At the same time, prepare the sauce. Put the tomato sauce, paste, salt, pepper and olive oil in a wide pot and let boil for 5 minutes. When the sauce is ready, put the soutzoukakia in and boil for 5 more minutes.

Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. Toss the pasta with the sauce and serve with the tuna soutzoukakia on top.

 

For the frying

  • Oil for the pan

 

For the sauce

  • 400g tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
