We grew up gazing upon the vastness of the endless waters, that is why fresh fish is a family affair for us.

Our history

1910

Tzika family starts its successful commercial activity by trading food and canned fish in Thessaloniki.

1945

Their business activity grows dynamically from the next generation in Athens. During the ’70 two iconic canned fish brands roll out: TRATA & Flokos.

1978

At 1978 the TRATA brand officially launches, becoming a trademark for fish in Greece. The first line to become a success was TRATA Sardines.

With the opening of a modern factory, the family has full control of the production line securing its top quality and TRATA taste that is well known for today.

In the same year, the series of Greek-produced Tuna TRATA is released for the first time, followed by the TRATA Musky Octopus.

TRATA Tuna Salads complete the tuna category. While in the same year, the seafood dishes are complemented by the Octopus TRATA.

TRATA anchovies are released in the market to complete the TRATA line of products.

2015

In 2015, TRATA Smoked Tuna is released, a unique product that is coming to change the facts and open a new subcategory in Tuna. The smoking process in a real wood fire oven is an innovation that impresses the consumer public in the Greek as well as the international market.

2019

The family of Smoked Tuna is completed with the three innovative Smoked Tuna Salads with Quinoa, Lentils and Beans.

2020

In 2020, the award-winning TunaPocket series was launched with great success and is a pioneer in creating the modern on-the-go trend in this category as well. And this will only be the beginning of the revolution in the category...

In 2022 TRATA was reintroduced with a new identity and is loved even more.
