Tuna Mac & Cheese With Smoked Tuna Piquant

  • 1 pack (2 tins) smoked tuna piquant TRATA
  • 1 pack (500g) rigatoni or any short shaped pasta
  • 50g butter
  • 50g flour
  • 700g milk
  • 200g mozzarella, grated
  • 4tbsp rusk crumbs
  • Salt

Method

You will need two pots, one for the pasta and another for the tuna sauce. Preheat the oven to 200oC. Open the tin of tuna and save the oil for cooking. Cook the rigatoni according to package directions, in salted boiling water. In the other pot add the tuna oil, butter and flour, and whisk until the mixture turns into a paste, and has a light golden color. Add a cup of the pasta cooking water and stir. Gradually pour in the milk and continue stirring until sauce begins to thicken. Remove from heat, add the mozzarella, tuna, pasta, and stir. Sprinkle with rusk crumbs and roast for 20′, until golden and well crusted.
