BAKED SARDINE FILLETS WITH OLIVE OIL, LEMON, AND OREGANO

Ingredients

  • 1 package of frozen fresh Aegean sardine fillets TRATA on ice (400 gr)
  • 30 ml olive oil
  • Zest and juice from 1 lemon
  • 1 sliced lemon
  • 10 gr dried oregano
  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

For serving

  • Lettuce leaves

Method

Let the sardines thaw to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Dry the sardines thoroughly using paper towels. The drier they are, the crunchier they will become. Mix the lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, and garlic in a bowl. Spread the sardines out on a small oven try and place slices of lemon between them. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes. Serve garnished with lettuce leaves.
