TRATA chilled smoked herring comes in tender fillets in vegetable oil, which have been smoked in a wood-fired oven in our facilities, with extra attention to the duration of smoking for a balance of flavor.
We use special wood chips in order to obtain a safe smoked product, highlighting a ripe smell and taste. TRATA chilled herring retains the distinctive, rich flavor of smoked fish with a subtle saltiness. Fresh lemon juice combined with rosemary extracts and essential oils of oregano bring out a pleasant acidity to the fish, making it a unique and flavorful product for our customers.
Our herring is caught in the clear waters of North Atlantic and is delivered to us in small tender fillets. Both the experience of our suppliers for the raw material and ours for processing with meticulous quality controls guarantee a prime product.
