SPAGHETTI WITH PIQUANT SARDINES AND CROUTONS

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of TRATA piquant sardines
  • 1 pack spaghetti (500g)
  • 2 slices stale bread
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 2 small-sized onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 tsp dry oregano
  • Red pepper flakes sweet or piquant
  • Salt and pepper

Method

Open the cans and drain the sardines. Cook the spaghetti in a large saucepan of salted boiling water according to the packet instructions. Toast the bread slices on the grill or the toaster. Cut into cubes and place aside for serving. Chop the garlic. Heat the olive oil in a saute pan. Add the garlic, onion, oregano, red pepper flakes, black pepper and sardines. Drain the spaghetti and immediately toss it into the saute pan. Toss all ingredients together to coat. No liquids should have remained. Serve the spaghetti placing the croutons on top.
