1 package of Trata on Ice sardine fillets
200 gr of red onions
2 cloves of garlic
50 ml of olive oil
400 gr of red peppers
400 gr of grated fresh tomatoes
50 gr of tomato paste
5 gr of smoked sweet red paprika
Let the sardines thaw to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
Peel and slice the onion. Cut the garlic in thin slices. Put the onions, garlic, and oil in a deep frying pan. Turn on the burner, add salt, cover with a lid and cook at a low temperature until the onions become soft, transparent, and sweet.
Dice the peppers. When the onions are ready, add the peppers, the grated tomatoes, the tomato paste, and the sweet red paprika and cook them until a well-mixed sauce has formed. This will take approximately 15 minutes at medium heat.
Pour the sauce into a medium-sized baking dish. Dry the sardines well and put them in the baking dish with the sauce. Bake for about 15 minutes at 180ºC.
